It’s a constant process of improvement here at HMH. Being a webzine has its advantages and we’re making use of each and every one of them. Interactive articles are a major part of our format whether it’s the ability for our readers to easily and painlessly leave comments, enlarge photos, link for further research or instantly share our site on a myriad of social networks.

Our driving force is our original content, we are not an aggregate. Everything you see here is unique to High Minded Horseman. We’re easily viewed on the iPad, iPhone, Android phones, Blackberry’s, old PC’s, new PC’s, the Macintosh or even your big honking flat screen. We’re also smokin’ fast! Try a download sometime on your iPhone over a network cell tower and you’ll be impressed. Advertising is a necessity for most websites but not for HMH. Our articles print cleanly and beautifully without all the clutter. No advertising also means we’re not afraid to express an opinion so if we like something- it’s for real.

Just because we’re a webzine dedicated to horse culture, doesn’t mean we’re not also dedicated to the latest technology. We’re geeky about a lot of things here at HMH. Thanks to our amazing webmaster, our website is a highly advanced, handcrafted masterpiece of cutting edge computer code. Horses populate our pages while serious horsepower drives us from under the hood.

Just as horsemanship is a constant process of self discovery and improvement so too has been the creation of High Minded Horseman itself. Horsemanship by nature is humbling and HMH has also been a humbling experience. I can no longer hide behind my editors because now the editor is me! Looking over the latest statistics on the site, I see we’re rapidly approaching the 10,000 page view mark with over a 1200 unique visitors from 27 different countries. This, after only being live for about three months, is truly humbling.

Thank you, thank you and thanks again to all our readers- we will continue to expand, improve and hopefully earn a spot on your bookmarks tool bar. A special thanks to all our Facebook fans, especially our Facebook subscribers in Japan; どうもありがとう! We’ll keep writing so you’ll keep reading!

Tracy Schumer is the editor of High Minded Horseman. A Florida native and lifetime horse enthusiast, she is currently based in Europe where she rides dressage, enjoys carriage driving and is always on the hunt for new experiences with horses.
